The project of "The Tree of Hope" has considered all the aspects of maintaining the healthiness of the land. The project specifically proposes to manage the soil for conservation, and "establish linear meters of anti-erosive barriers to protect the lands and farmers' crops."

The ideology of the project of "The Tree of Hope" will not only help to plant trees and resurface the value of the soil but also it will also reduce poverty, improve food security, and protect the natural environment. Equally as important, both organizations hope to convince Haitian officials and farmers to designate lands known to have unique species of wild life as protected areas.

"The LaSelle range is home to a number of birds and plants that do not exist anywhere else." Furthermore, the Miami Herald has reported, "A survey three years ago found that many native birds, including the Hispaniolan Parrot and Parakeet, Chat Tanager and White-Winged Warbler, were in danger of disappearing."

Haiti has 474 known species of amphibians, birds, mammals and reptiles according to figures from the World Conservation Monitoring Center. "Of these, 16.2% are endemic to Haiti, meaning they exist in no other country, and 15.6% are threatened. Haiti is home to at least 5242 species of vascular plants, of which 31.0% are endemic. 0.3% are protected under IUCN categories I-V," the report elaborated. These species and the areas, which they live in, deserve to be protected and designated as national monuments.

The goal of "The Tree of Hope" is valid and hopeful. We can all come together to save Haiti's depleted lands. Planting trees and working with Haitian and Foreign agronomists to determine the best sustainable agriculture methods to help farmers manage the land could be a step in the right direction.

Artists Relief Funds For Haiti and L'Organization du Nord Ouest Pour le Development de L'Environement, hope to work with different communities and organizations who are either engaged in reforestation or interested in sharing ideas, research, and opportunities. Through this project, native species (of trees) in open and deforested areas such as mangoe, oak, and fruit trees and bamboo can be reintroduced to their natural habitat.

Artists Relief Funds For Haiti and L'Organization du Nord Ouest Pour le Development de L'Environement welcomes your participation in the "Tree Of Hope for Haiti". You can get involved by donating your valuable time or make a tax-deductible contribution. It cost only $1.00 to plant a tree in Haiti, and by donating at least one dollar a month to the effort of saving a life well worth saving. Research has shown that "the planting of trees on small-scale farms - can reduce poverty, improve food security, and protect the natural environment ". Over time, we can help Haiti come out of its horrible coma of languishing deforestation, and economic deprivation. The ultimate goal would be to create sustainable forests in depleted regions and communities in Haiti

"The Tree of Hope" has established a campaign strategy where all Haitians could take part of this project and make it a success for the sake of the country which once was a Queen, a Pearl and now has become a weak, sick place where people are dying and animals are in danger due to the after effects of cutting the trees and poverty.

The project tends to "Establish a special Fund where money can be donated for "The Tree of Hope" project. It will reach out to supporters from charitable organizations, Haitian businesses, and individuals."

The project also intends to organize different events to generate money for the effort. It will also create a sponsorship program where different organizations and individuals can contribute. The Tree of Hope Project encourages professionals, such as agronomist, engineers, agronomists, architects and citizens with different backgrounds to volunteer their time and professional expertise in the forestation of Haiti.

Donating time and money to the "Tree Of Hope For Haiti "project could be a step in the right direction. Please help bring "The Tree of Hope" to Haiti. « Previous Page 1|2|3
