Napoleon
was defeated by the Haitians. A triumph, though over 200 years ago, which still
remains unforgivable. And since that victory, in the age of Jefferson, Haiti has
been punished by Napoleon's white cousins seeking revenge.
Stand up and cheer for freedom! Democrats rose in unity to applaud President
Bush at his last State of the Union address when he called for the spread of freedom
as an answer to the problems of the world.I
applauded, because I naturally assumed that this spread of freedom would travel
to all parts
of the globe, but sadly this spread of freedom is too thin to be stretched across
the shores of Haiti, a country only 600 miles away. For the rest of the world,
freedom is Bush's primary export. But for Haiti, this White House regime has boldly
dumped an epidemic of terror. Within
the shadow of the United States, Haiti is one of the most hopelessly miserable
countries on earth. Volcanic street violence initiated by the U.S. supported terror
brigades have mushroomed to the point where even the U.S. Embassy has basically
shut down. The State Department's fear that its diplomats may be harmed or held
hostage by the CIA sponsored brand of killers is just one of the many ironic twists
in the spiral of events that have dragged Haiti deeper into the bowels of hell. Secretary
Condaleeza Rice and her predecessor Colin Powell are directly responsible for
ignoring the chain of events which have created the present political inferno
in Haiti. This is a fact that can be confirmed by members of the Congressional
Black Caucus (CBC) who demanded and were given a meeting with the White House/
Haitian policy makers a few days before the kidnapping of the legally elected
President of Haiti, Jean Bertrand-Aristide. At the end of that White House confrontation,
Rice and Powell were joined by none other than President George Bush. All three
of these powerful potentates heard the desperate plea of the CBC members for the
support of democracy in Haiti and the protection of the legitimate government
against attacking terrorists. CBC members also begged specifically for the protection
of President Aristide and his family. By
the end of the week it was clear that the fateful meeting at the White House had
partially accomplished one purpose. The troika of Rice, Powell, and Bush has responded
by saving Aristide from assassination. The kidnapping was a concession to the
CBC. But no other demands were met. The legitimate democratic government of Haiti
was not defended and the terrorists were not ordered to retreat. Instead, the
terrorists, backed by a phalanx of rich Haitian landowners, were allowed to swarm
over the presidential palace and the surrounding area. The first symbolic act
of these U.S. supported barbarians was to pillage and burn an art exhibition of
Haitian painters celebrating Haiti's two hundred years of independence. Through
mudslides and hurricanes, epidemics and civil government collapse, the terrorist
forces remain unpunished and still in power. Several thousand United Nations troops
are now on patrol in Haiti. But it is clear that they have been ordered to keep
their hands off of the U.S. sanctioned insurgents. While billions of dollars are
being spent to bring democracy to Iraq, the U.S. is allocating nothing to help
clear the social wreckage from the Haiti political infrastructure. Given
the last few decades of the merciless and cynical domination of Haiti by the United
States, it is clear that only the international community can restore democracy
to Haiti and assist in forging a meaningful master plan for economic development.
Americans and others who want to help should support such a globally based transformation
process. Since it can only lead to sabotage, a U.S presence in this rescue process
should not be welcomed. Haiti must seek a new set of partners in countries like
Norway, Iceland, China, Germany, Venezuela, Australia, Singapore, etc. Where there
is land there is hope and wealth. Haiti's strategic location in the western Hemisphere
should prove to be of great value to certain stagnant nations in Europe and to
many emerging economies throughout the world. It
is important to be aware of Napoleon's revenge as highlighted in the following
Rap Poem; however, outstretched global hands can help to end the two centuries
of repression. NAPOLEON'S
REVENGE Blacks
made him a military jerk And Napoleon went berserk; The dictator's disease
rained down Sprouting in confederate ground; Harassment of Haiti Became
the white rulers' duty: Black ambassadors speaking French Was out-of-place
and snooty. The final revenge by Senator Jesse Has now turned criminally
messy: Terrorist at Haiti's gate Financed by camouflaged hate, And the
U.S. refuses to debate This murder of a tiny State. White House credibility
blood Is now desperately low, Spin doctors fail to stem the flow. Napoleon
lost the war When Haiti captured liberty; On the moral battlefield of eternity Colon
and Condi Now confront Aristide, For 200 years Napoleon's heirs have
made Haiti bleed. The White House refusal to debate The murder of this tiny
state May seal our President's fate. | |
