Blanchet is a chemical engineer who has worked for nearly 30 years as a design
engineer at Shell, Chevron and Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Since his retirement
Mr. Blanchet has worked as a consulting engineer. In recent years Mr. Blanchet
has served on the boards of various organizations, including Global Exchange in
San Francisco, CA; the DataCenter in Oakland, CA; the East Bay Sanctuary Covenant
in Berkeley, CA; FONKOZE USA in NYC, the Lambi Fund of Haiti in Washington, DC;
and the National Coalition for Haitian Rights in NYC. Mr. Blanchet was recently
elected to the KPFA (Berkeley, CA) Local Station Board. He has received B.S. and
M.S. degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1964 and 1965 respectively
and an M.B.A. in finance from UC Berkeley in 1979. |
